Somewhere amidst expectations, ambiguities, fate and its travesty, the real and the imagined, the heroic and the tragic, the funny and the grave and the emotions they evoke, the passions they unleash, the thoughts they provoke stands theatre – an age old, almost ritualistic communion between the performer and the audience to get beyond the immediate, the logical, the mundane in order to experience, even if for a little while, the sublime. It is no wonder then that theatre, driven by its own need, has entertained experiments ranging from the most formal to the most ludicrous. We, the Eastern Thespians, want to pay homage to the rich tradition of theatre by experimenting with a variety of themes and genres and intend sharing with our viewers the experience of theatre.
